WHO ARE WE

South Derbyshire CVS Community Development Team

South Derbyshire CVS Community Development team works together with voluntary, community, and social enterprise (VCSE) groups and organisations across South Derbyshire to improve the social, economic and environmental wellbeing of our local communities.

The Community Development team works closely with residents, community leaders, organisations and other stakeholders to identify local needs, develop practical solutions and support initiatives that create lasting positive change.

At the heart of the team’s approach is community participation. Rather than making decisions on behalf of local people, the team encourages residents to take an active role in identifying priorities, planning projects and contributing to their implementation. This helps ensure that development activities reflect the real needs, experiences and aspirations of the community.

The team may also support a wide range of activities, including education and skills development, health and wellbeing programmes, support for vulnerable groups, youth engagement and the development of local facilities and services.

By building strong partnerships, encouraging local leadership and making effective use of available resources, the Community Development Team aims to strengthen communities, increase opportunities and support sustainable development.

Our purpose is to help create a more inclusive, resilient and empowered communities in which people are able to contribute to and thrive.
